He has been awarded OV Jooma Gold Medal by the Pakistan Society of Neurosurgery for his pioneering work in neuroendoscopy at JPMC Karachi. He is currently working as Consultant Neurosurgeon. Head of Department. Dow Gamma Knife Radiosurgery. Dow University of Health Sciences.(DUHS). Karachi. Previously he worked as Director Gamma Knife Radiosurgery at Neurospinal & Cancer Care Institute of Pakistan for 13 years(2008-2021). Dr. Abid has several publications in international journals and has presented more than 50 papers at various conferences all over Pakistan and at major international conferences in Europe and North America.
